Offspring bounces in ratings

Network Ten drama Offspring has proven you don't have to make the Top 10 to be a success, while House Rules is on a rollercoaster ratings ride.

The fourth season of Offspring, which kicked off last night, attracted 868 thousand viewers to be the 12th most-watched show for the evening.

It may not seem like a significant number but for the beleaguered network it's a big vote of confidence.

Meanwhile, after two consecutive nights in the Top 10, House Rules fell to 11th place with 900 thousand viewers, still a vast improvement on last week's figures when the third episode of the Seven Network's fledgling series dipped below 700,000.

Most-watched shows last night according to OzTAM 1. Nine News (Nine) - 1.387 million 2. Seven News (Seven) - 1.263 million 3. A Current Affair (Nine) - 1.188 million 4. The Big Bang Theory (Nine) - 1.160 million 5. The Block Sky High (Nine) - 1.156 million 6. Today Tonight (Seven) - 975,000 7. ABC News (ABC1) - 966,000 8. Arrow (Nine) - 963,000 9.
